Oak Heights Elementary Family Letter

September 16, 2016

Edition #1

Dear OH Families,

Every two weeks I write and send home a letter to all families with important information and updates. You’ll also find a section at the bottom with upcoming events and “Save the Date” calendar items. Today every family will receive a hard copy. If you have a current e-mail in the student information system (Skyward) you will also receive this via our school messenger system in the form of an e-mail from me. You’ll find a form at the bottom of this hard copy for you to return should you prefer to always receive a hard copy as come mid-October we will only send it out in an electronic form to most of our families. We automatically translate these into Spanish, but we also have the ability to translate into other languages upon request.

We’ve had a really great start to the school year. It’s been great to see our returning students and families. I want to give a huge welcome and shout out to those of you who are new to our school. This is a pretty special community of families and I am so proud of the amazing staff here at Oak Heights who serve you all. If I haven’t met you yet – please introduce yourself!

Our enrollment is very close to the same as it was in the Spring with 615 students. The great news is that we actually have one more classroom teacher this year. We do have a few classrooms that are pretty full, and those teachers will be accessing additional support to help out. I hope you will be able to join us on the 22nd for Curriculum Night to meet your child’s teacher and learn about the upcoming school year.

Thanks for taking a few minutes to read this letter. It’s one way you can support your child’s academic career!

Highlighted Information:

Curriculum Night: Parents – please join us on Thursday September 22nd teachers will be in their classrooms to meet you and share information about the upcoming school year including the classroom routines, instruction, and upcoming events.
